Minnesota Discount Office (MDO) launched a new website that aims to deliver premium office furnishings at discounted prices to the Minneapolis and Saint Paul metro area in Minnesota. Originally launched in 1994, MDO has carved out a niche in the Twin Cities as a top dealer of quality commercial office furniture. Today, with the help of their new website and integrations, MDO is able to expand their footprint regionally and beyond.
Since the inception of the company, MDO has provided sales and services for businesses large and small. From furnishing single offices to planning, delivery and installation of furniture systems for large corporations, the team at MDO has seen and done it all. As a result, MDO has expanded their offering to include free floor planning, office furniture liquidation and installation services to the 5-county metro area of the Twin Cities. The service area for their free planning and delivery now include Anoka, Dakota, Hennepin, Ramsey and Washington counties.
Understanding and adapting to the changing landscape of retail was critical. Owner Matt Kelly identified Amazon and Office Depot as challenging the existing practices of the commercial furniture industry. In seeking out solutions, MDO contracted Virbion to identify and implement technology that would make it possible to reduce supply chain costs, thereby passing on savings to their customers. In addition to the discounted pricing, Matt also believes Amazon and big box retailers cannot deliver on the breadth of services normally demanded by businesses. "Many of our customers land here and return because we can offer free planning, free delivery, installation and liquidation. Our goal is to be the preferred provider of complete furniture solutions for businesses throughout the Midwest," Matt states.
